20×20 Tile Calculator

Calculate how many 20×20″ ceiling tiles you need

Use This Handy Calculator to determine how many tiles you need if the ceiling tiles you want to order are sold in the 20 by 20 inch size.

Note: It is important to add a 15% overage to be certain to have enough tiles to maintain your pattern.

The result shown here has added on that additional 15% to have sufficient Ceiling Tiles to allow for trimming and pattern matching.

If you are certain that you will not need any additional tiles for pattern matching, ceiling fixtures or imperfect room size, you can deduct 15% from this total and have enough tiles.

Minimum Number of Tiles Needed

This Calculator utilizes javascript. If you have disabled javascript in your browser, it will not work.

You can always use any calculator to figure this out. The number of square feet is first divided by “2.8” which is the number of square feet covered by one 20 x 20 inch tile. Take that result and multiply times 1.15 to get the number of tiles you will need if you allow for trim and pattern matching. IF You are certain that you do not need any extra tiles for trim and pattern matching, do not multiply times 1.15, just take the number of square feet in your room and divide by 2.8.
